Top Development MCP Servers

MCP servers that let a coding agent see the browser, read current docs, and work with GitHub, errors, deploys and databases

Start with Playwright and Context7. Playwright lets your agent open the app and check its own work in a real browser. Context7 stops it from writing code for last year's API.
For browser tasks that need logging in and clicking through other sites, use Browser Use.
Add Chrome DevTools for performance traces and console errors, and PageSpeed Insights to check Core Web Vitals after a deploy. On large codebases where text search stops being enough, add Serena. To explain how the system works, Mermaid draws diagrams from the code.
The rest connect your stack: GitHub for PRs, issues and CI logs, Sentry for production errors, Vercel or Cloudflare for deploys, and Supabase or Neon for the database.
If a tool already has a CLI you're signed in to, like gh or vercel, the agent often does as well with the CLI. Start every connector read-only.
