Can explain what was built and why it works that way
Product mind
Has shipped products people use, not closed tickets
Clear thinking
Takes an open problem apart and says what comes first
Empathy
Works well in a team and understands customer pains

Get a full-stack developer who owns the result

Claude Code writes most of the code. Your engineer plans it, reviews it and answers for it

A feature in 1 pull request

UI, API and database changes together, so nothing waits on a handoff between 2 people.

A database that keeps up

Schema, indexes and migrations in code, so new features do not slow the app down.

Sign-in, payments and email

Auth, Stripe and transactional email set up once and done right.

Releases without drama

Tests on the flows that matter, preview deploys and a way to roll back.

Build on a stack that will scale

The parts our full-stack engineers build on, from our tech stack guide

PostgreSQL is the gold standard for relational databases — ACID compliance, advanced indexing, JSONB, full-text search, and an unmatched extension ecosystem.

pgvector for AI, PostGIS for geo, pg_cron for jobs — all without leaving Postgres. The serverless wave (Neon , Supabase ) makes it easier than ever to get started.

Read our PostgreSQL notes
Extensions
pgvector, PostGIS, pg_cron, and 1000+ more
JSONB
Query semi-structured data with SQL
ACID Compliant
Full transactional integrity and constraints
Full-Text Search
Built-in text search without external tools
SQL-Like Syntax
Queries map 1:1 to generated SQL
Zero Dependencies
Lightest ORM, works on every runtime
Framework Agnostic
Works with Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, and more
Full Auth Stack
OAuth, email/password, magic links, MFA

PostgreSQL fits when

  • Almost any web application requiring structured, relational data — Postgres is the safe default.
  • You need ACID compliance, complex joins, constraints, and strong data integrity.
  • You want one database for multiple workloads — relational, JSON, vector search, geospatial, full-text search.
  • You want a database backed by 35+ years of development with massive community support.

Pick something else when

  • You need a pure document store with flexible schemas and easy horizontal sharding (consider MongoDB ).
  • You're building a simple prototype where a key-value store or SQLite is faster to start with.
  • You need extreme horizontal write scalability across regions (consider CockroachDB or DynamoDB).

Test them on a real task first

Before the first full week, your engineer spends 2 days on a task from your backlog. You pay $7 and keep the code

Example trial task 2 days · $7

Ship 1 backlog feature end to end

  • Screen, API and database change in 1 pull request
  • Migration that runs cleanly on your data
  • Tests for the main flow
  • A Loom walking you through it

FAQ

What does a full-stack developer do?

They build both sides of a feature: the screens users see, the API behind them and the database underneath. Ours use AI agents like Claude Code to write most of the code, which is why 1 person can now cover what used to take 2 or 3.

Which stacks do they work in?

Mostly TypeScript: React or Next.js on the front, Node.js and PostgreSQL behind it. Some work in Python or SvelteKit. Name your stack in the brief and we match to it.

How much does it cost to hire a full-stack developer?

Our engineers charge $30-60 an hour, depending on experience. Full time at 40 hours a week that comes to about $5,000-10,000 a month, with no deposit and no platform fee. On Toptal the same search starts at about $60 an hour, plus a $500 deposit and $79 a month.

How do you vet the engineers?

Every candidate builds and presents a full-stack demo project: a landing page, a web app, a backend and a database with RAG, all with AI agents. Then our CTO, Igor Krasnik, interviews them on technical knowledge, product sense, clear thinking and how they work with a team. Only engineers who pass both are matched with clients.

Can I hire for 20 hours a week or a short project?

Yes. Pick 20 or 40 hours a week in the brief. Billing is weekly, so a 2-week fix and a year-long engagement work the same way: you stop when the work is done.

What if the engineer is not a good fit?

Tell us and we send a replacement from the network. There is no contract to exit and no notice period, since billing is weekly.

Do I talk to the engineer directly?

Yes. They join your Slack and work with you like a member of your team. There is no account manager in between, and you get a written update every day.
