Supabase MCP is Supabase's official hosted server. It lets the agent see your real schema, run SQL, write migrations, check security advisors, read logs and regenerate TypeScript types. It ends the loop of pasting table definitions into chat.
You sign in with OAuth, with no access token to create. URL options limit what the agent can touch:
project_ref scopes it to one project, read_only=true runs every query as a read-only Postgres user, and features turns on only the tool groups you need.Watch out
- Point it at a dev project or a branch, not production. Supabase recommends
read_only=trueand approving every tool call, because data in the database can carry prompt injections.
- Branching tools need a paid plan, and creating projects or branches can cost money. The server asks you to confirm cost first.
