Get a Supabase engineer who owns the result

Claude Code writes most of the code. Your engineer plans it, reviews it and answers for it

Data that stays private

Row level security written and tested, so 1 customer never sees another customer's data.

A schema that scales

Tables, indexes and migrations kept in code and reviewed like any other change.

Sign-in that just works

Email, magic link and OAuth sign-in, with roles for your team and your customers.

Logic in the right place

Edge functions, triggers and background jobs for everything that should not run in the browser.

Build on a stack that will scale

Why we pick Supabase, from our tech stack guide

Supabase provides dedicated PostgreSQL instances โ€” always-on with predictable performance, not serverless. Full Postgres server with direct access and PgBouncer pooling.

Use or ignore the rest of the platform (Auth, Storage, Realtime). Dashboard includes SQL editor, table editor, and log viewer. Branching available on Pro plans.

Dedicated Instance
Always-on Postgres, no cold starts
PgBouncer
Built-in connection pooling for serverless
Dashboard
SQL editor, table editor, and log viewer
Platform Add-ons
Optionally add Auth, Storage, Realtime later

Supabase fits when

  • You want a dedicated Postgres instance with predictable performance and no cold starts.
  • You might want to add Auth, Storage, or Realtime features later without switching providers.
  • You prefer open-source infrastructure with the option to self-host.
  • You want a visual database dashboard alongside direct SQL access.

Pick something else when

  • You specifically want serverless Postgres that scales to zero (use Neon instead).
  • You need instant database branching on all tiers (Neon includes this on free tier).
  • You want MySQL โ€” Supabase is PostgreSQL only.

Test them on a real task first

Before the first full week, your engineer spends 2 days on a task from your backlog. You pay $7 and keep the code

Example trial task 2 days ยท $7

Lock down your data with row level security

  • A policy for every table users can reach
  • Tests that try to read another user's data
  • Migration files in your repo
  • A short write-up of what changed and why

FAQ

What does a Supabase developer do?

They design your Postgres database on Supabase and build what sits on it: auth, row level security, storage, edge functions and the API your app calls. Ours use AI agents like Claude Code for most of the code and review every migration by hand.

Can they fix an app built with Lovable or Bolt on Supabase?

Yes, this is common. They start by checking the security rules and the schema, since that is where generated apps usually break, then fix what is risky before adding features.

How much does it cost to hire a Supabase developer?

Our engineers charge $30-60 an hour, depending on experience. Full time at 40 hours a week that comes to about $5,000-10,000 a month, with no deposit and no platform fee. On Toptal the same search starts at about $60 an hour, plus a $500 deposit and $79 a month.

How do you vet the engineers?

Every candidate builds and presents a full-stack demo project: a landing page, a web app, a backend and a database with RAG, all with AI agents. Then our CTO, Igor Krasnik, interviews them on technical knowledge, product sense, clear thinking and how they work with a team. Only engineers who pass both are matched with clients.

Can I hire for 20 hours a week or a short project?

Yes. Pick 20 or 40 hours a week in the brief. Billing is weekly, so a 2-week fix and a year-long engagement work the same way: you stop when the work is done.

What if the engineer is not a good fit?

Tell us and we send a replacement from the network. There is no contract to exit and no notice period, since billing is weekly.

Do I talk to the engineer directly?

Yes. They join your Slack and work with you like a member of your team. There is no account manager in between, and you get a written update every day.
