The shadcn MCP server ships with the shadcn CLI. It lets your agent browse, search and install components, blocks and templates from any shadcn-compatible registry: shadcn itself, Magic UI, Aceternity, or your company's private one.
The agent reads real examples before writing code, so its usage matches each component's actual API. It finds and installs; it doesn't design. For layouts to copy, start with Mobbin. For components generated from a prompt, see 21st.dev Magic.
A real run
We asked for the parts of a pricing page from shadcn and Magic UI. It found that neither has a ready-made pricing block, assembled one from five components, and gave a single install command.
Watch out
- The result is only as good as the registry.
- The project needs a valid
components.json.
