PostHog MCP is PostHog's official hosted server. It answers product questions with your event data: trends, funnels, retention, SQL queries, experiment results and survey summaries. It also covers feature flags, error tracking and CDP destinations. The code lives in the PostHog monorepo on GitHub.
Mixpanel and Amplitude
Both have official hosted servers with OAuth sign-in, so the same prompts work there.
- Mixpanel:
claude mcp add --transport http mixpanel https://mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp. An org admin has to turn on MCP in Settings first. EU and India projects have their own URLs.
- Amplitude:
claude mcp add --transport http amplitude https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp. EU accounts usehttps://mcp.eu.amplitude.com/mcp. After sign-in you pick the tools to enable.
Watch out
- The answer is only as good as your event names. Ask Claude to show the query it ran before you share the number.
- Connecting and calling tools is free, but tools that use AI inside PostHog may be billed as PostHog AI spend, and need AI data processing turned on.
Install
Terminal
Loading editor...
claude mcp add --transport http posthog https://mcp.posthog.com/mcp
Then run
/mcp in Claude Code and sign in to PostHog. Sign-in routes you to the US or EU region automatically. For Cursor and other clients, npx @posthog/wizard mcp add installs it for you.
