The Google Ads MCP is Google's official server for the Google Ads API. Claude writes GAQL, the Ads query language, for you, so you can ask about wasted spend, CPA changes or Quality Score in plain words and get numbers back.
It's read-only: it finds the waste but can't pause anything. Pair it with Google Analytics to see what ad clicks did on the site, and with Meta Ads for a weekly check across both platforms.
Watch out
- Getting the developer token approved is the slowest part. It needs at least Explorer access to query real accounts; a test-only token returns an error.
- The server sends your account data to the model you connect it to.
Install
Install
pipx, enable the Google Ads API in a Google Cloud project, set up credentials for a Google user with access to your Ads accounts, and get a developer token. Then:Terminal

claude mcp add google-ads -e GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=... -e GOOGLE_PROJECT_ID=... -e GOOGLE_ADS_DEVELOPER_TOKEN=... -- pipx run --spec git+https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-mcp.git google-ads-mcp
The same command works in Gemini CLI and other local clients. Teams that want to host it can turn on its OAuth proxy so each person signs in with their own Google account.
