DataForSEO is the SEO data many tools are built on, sold per API call. Its official MCP gives Claude live Google results, search volumes, keyword difficulty, backlinks, on-page audits and mentions in AI answers, with no monthly subscription. The server is open source, and DataForSEO also hosts it.
Watch out
- It exposes 4 generic tools (
docs_index,docs_list_sections,docs_search,api_request), so Claude reads the API docs to find the right endpoint each time. It works, but it's slower than Ahrefs or Semrush.
- Every call costs money. Try a small sample before you run big keyword lists.
