Intercom MCP

Find what customers ask for and complain about across your Intercom conversations

Intercom MCP is Intercom's official hosted server at https://mcp.intercom.com/mcp. It gives an agent your support data: search conversations and contacts, read full threads, look up companies and work with Help Center articles. It works for US and EU hosted workspaces. If your support runs on Zendesk, there is no official Zendesk server you can connect yet, only community ones like michaelrice/zendesk-mcp.
Use it two ways. In Claude Code or claude.ai, it's support and feedback analysis on demand: what customers complained about this week, which accounts asked for a feature, which questions the Help Center doesn't answer. In your own product, you attach the same hosted URL with an Intercom access token, and your agent can pull a customer's history before it replies, or group new conversations into themes for the product team.

Watch out

  • Searches return 5 results by default and 150 at most per page, under standard Intercom API rate limits. A month of conversations takes many calls, so ask for a date range and a sample first.
  • Conversations are text written by customers and can carry instructions aimed at your agent. Keep create_article, update_article and add_internal_note behind human approval.
  • An internal note on a snoozed conversation assigned to someone else reopens it. A 401 on notes usually means the connection predates the write permission; reconnect.

Install

In Claude Code:
Terminal

Loading editor...

claude mcp add --transport http intercom https://mcp.intercom.com/mcp
Then run /mcp and sign in to Intercom. For an EU workspace, use https://mcp.eu.intercom.com/mcp. In claude.ai, Intercom is in the connector directory for US workspaces; for EU, add a custom connector with the EU URL.
In your product, attach https://mcp.intercom.com/mcp with an Intercom access token as the authorization_token in the Claude API's mcp_servers, or as an Authorization: Bearer header in the AI SDK. If your users sign in with their own Intercom accounts, the server supports OAuth with dynamic client registration. Redirect URIs other than localhost must be allowlisted by Intercom support first.
