Excalidraw MCP

Draw hand-drawn diagrams, user flows and low-fi wireframes you can edit and export

Excalidraw's official MCP server lets your agent draw hand-drawn style diagrams: user flows, architecture, sitemaps and low-fi wireframes. It is open source under MIT and hosted at mcp.excalidraw.com, with no account or key.
In Claude Desktop and claude.ai the editable canvas appears right in the chat, and you can export it to excalidraw.com to share or keep editing. In clients without MCP Apps support, such as the terminal, you get a link instead. You can also self-host it on Vercel or run it locally.

Watch out

  • It is for sketches and diagrams, not finished UI.
  • The live canvas needs a client that supports MCP Apps. In the terminal you only get a link.

claude mcp add --transport http excalidraw https://mcp.excalidraw.com/mcp
In claude.ai, add it as a custom connector with the same URL. For Claude Desktop, you can also install the .mcpb file from the repo's Releases page.
