Skills.sh

Installable skills and plugins for AI coding agents

Skills.sh is a registry of installable skills for AI coding agents like Claude Code . Browse, install, and share skills that add framework-specific knowledge, workflow automations, and other capabilities to your agent.
Skills are community-driven and composable. Install a skill and your agent gets new slash commands, context, or behaviors without custom configuration.
It's made by Vercel. The CLI, vercel-labs/skills , is open source under MIT. A skill is just a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description of when to use it, and instructions for the agent. Skills.sh indexes these folders from GitHub and ranks them by installs.

How to install a skill

Every skill page on skills.sh shows its install command, a summary, the full SKILL.md, install stats and the security audit results:
The format is the GitHub repo that holds the skill:
Terminal

Loading editor...

npx skills add vercel-labs/agent-skills
The CLI asks which skills from the repo and which agents to install them for. Useful flags and commands:
Command
What it does
npx skills add --skill
Install one skill from a repo with several
npx skills add -g
Install for your user, in every project, instead of only the current one
npx skills add -a claude-code
Install for one agent only
npx skills find react
Search the registry from the terminal
npx skills ls
List installed skills
npx skills update
Update installed skills
npx skills remove
Remove a skill
npx skills init my-skill
Create a new SKILL.md to write your own
Project installs go into the agent's folder in the repo, for Claude Code that's .claude/skills/, so the whole team gets them through git. Global installs go to ~/.claude/skills/.
Supported agents: Claude Code, Cursor , Codex , GitHub Copilot , Gemini CLI , OpenCode , Windsurf, Cline, Amp, Antigravity, Goose, Kiro, Roo, Trae, Zed and others, 20 in total.

What's popular

The leaderboard is sorted by all-time installs, with Trending (24h) and Hot tabs. The top of the list is mostly workflow skills, not framework docs: find-skills from Vercel, Matt Pocock's grill-me, tdd and improve-codebase-architecture, Vercel's agent-browser and Anthropic's frontend-design. You can also browse by topic: React, Next.js, Design & UI, Mobile, Databases, Testing, Marketing.

Is it safe?

A skill can include scripts, and your agent runs them with your permissions. Skills.sh runs automated audits with Gen, Socket and Snyk on every indexed skill, shows the results on each skill page, hides skills flagged as malicious and, since CLI 1.4.0, shows the risk level before you install. That's a filter, not a guarantee. Read the SKILL.md and any scripts before installing a skill from an author you don't know.

Skills.sh alternatives

  • Claude Code plugin marketplaces. Anthropic's built-in way to install skills together with commands, hooks and MCP servers. Claude Code only.
  • Superpowers . A ready-made development methodology for coding agents, packaged as skills: planning, TDD workflows and parallel task execution.
  • Impeccable . Design skills and anti-pattern commands for better UI out of agents.
  • AGENTS.md . For project rules that should apply to every session, a single instructions file is simpler than a skill.

FAQ

Is skills.sh free?
Yes. Browsing, installing and publishing are free, and the CLI is MIT licensed.
How do I publish my own skill?
Put a folder with a SKILL.md in a public GitHub repo (npx skills init creates one). Once people install it with npx skills add, it shows up on the leaderboard.
What's the difference between a skill and an MCP server?
An MCP server gives the agent new tools to call, like a database or an API. A skill gives it instructions and know-how: when and how to do a task, sometimes with scripts. Many setups use both.
